benefit cucumber for skin care

Cucumber is a widely cultivated plant and also the oldest cultivated crops. It  belongs to the same botanical family as melons and squashes. It is very low in calories and rich in fiber,so makes a perfect diet food. According to World Health Food “Cucumbers are a valuable source of conventional antioxidant nutrients including vitamin C, beta-carotene, and manganese.” It also has a high amount of vitamin K. Cucumber peels are rich in dietary fiber that helps reduce constipation. We would have enjoyed cucumbers in fruit and vegetables salads, but do you know that it has lot of beauty benefits for eyes, hair and skin and is also a popular ingredient in many skincare products.


For glowing skin
For luminous skin, make a face pack with 3 tbsp of cucumber juice, 2 tsp of lemon juice and half a tsp of pure sandalwood powder. Apply it on your face and neck. Rinse it off after 15 minutes for a glowing complexion.  

As a natural toner
To shrink large pores, mix 4 tbsp of cucumber juice with 2 tsp of honey to get a fine mixture. Apply this with cotton pads regularly for best results. 

As a hydrating mask
To hydrate dry and dull skin, mix 4 tbsp of cucumber juice with 2 tbsp of yoghurt. Apply this on the affected area. This will also heal sunburns and prevent blackheads.  

As a cooling body spray
Mix 1/4th cup of cooled green tea, 4 tbsp of cucumber juice, 2 tbsp of aloe vera gel and 1-2 drops of peppermint essential oil and pour this into a spray bottle. Stir or shake to combine. Refrigerate and use when required.  

To relax puffy eyes 
If you are suffering from puffy eyes, place cucumber slices on closed eyes and relax for 15 minutes. It helps reduce water retention and puffiness of eyes.
